Inflation is still high with consumer prices up 7.7% in October, yet prices rose at a lower level than economists expected, raising hopes that the economic slowdown is easing inflation pressures.

Republicans have edged closer to the 218 seats needed to win the House. The CBN News Election Center count gives Republicans 211 seats to the Democrats’ 192. The Senate remains deadlocked, with seats in Arizona and Nevada yet to be called and Georgia’s race headed to a runoff.

The White House says President Biden will meet with China’s President Xi Jinping Monday on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit. Agenda topics include Russia’s war in Ukraine and China’s threats to Taiwan.

Hurricane Nicole left at least five dead in Florida. Thousands remain without power after Nicole moved back to sea as a tropical storm.
