The Saddest Reality :: By Dave Hubley
Before getting to the content of this article, I need to point out that we humans cannot legitimately cast the blame for current events on God. He has given man every precept, law, commandment, and warning necessary to avoid what is coming, and He has been ignored, mocked, and hated by a very large percentage of the world. Yet, He continues to love and provide.
Also, the Bible, in terms of laws, precepts and decrees, was gifted not only to the Jews but to all peoples, Jew or Gentile. Jewish sacrificial rites and rituals were exclusively for the Jews, but those ancient rituals were instituted by God to point the way to the Messiah and the New Covenant. They were terminated upon the death, burial, and resurrection of the True Sacrificial Lamb of God: Messiah Jesus, who was sacrificed once for all.
In His Word (the Bible), these verses appear in various locations and encapsulate some of the core Truths of life and of death.
No one leads a perfect and sin-free life.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Jesus Christ is the Way that God determined to offer salvation for sinners.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’” (John 14:6).
God’s plan to righteously solve the terminal problem of sin must be followed.
“Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24).
Everyone will have free will to decide for themselves who they will serve.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Every last individual will face the same standard. That “standard” is receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord or choosing to reject Him.
“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
I wrote this article after contemplating the writing of it for a long time. I was reluctant to do so, as I was aware of the levels of unbelief that have existed and continue to grow during my lifetime of dwelling in a very materially prosperous country. When would be the right time, or would there be a right time?
I never had to work at discerning the Truth of that unbelief. It was, and still is, all around me. I grew up as one of those who lived for myself without regard to my Creator, even though He provided for my needs anyway. He loved me in spite of myself, as He also does you.
That has become more obvious since I received the Gospel of Jesus into my heart and spirit and so received the gift of knowledge and understanding of Truth as God sees it.
Once I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I was further given the specific gift of the desire to study and understand God’s prophetic Truths, and that, more than any other reason, has been what has driven my desire to undertake this writing ministry.
Sadness washes over me when I consider all that unbelief has restrained me from writing about the saddest reality thus far, but as one of the points this article will seek to convey, that is no longer possible.
Understanding the 100% veracity of what once was future prophecy but is now reality has led me to the clear understanding that the balance of prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled will also be completed at the time appointed by God and revealed in His inerrant Word, also with 100% accuracy.
There is presently an awakening by many who were formerly just walking through their day-to-day activities, largely ignorant of the fact that world leaders, world governments, and pseudo-science are all out of control and doomed to failure. All of them.
As conditions in the world became impossible to ignore, many have tried to stay “under the radar” and concentrate on food, clothing and shelter for themselves and their families.
What’s wrong with that, you might say?
Nothing on the face of it, unless it too is done without regard to or fear of God.
“whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14).
Conditions are no longer allowing anyone to stay “under the radar,” no matter how much we may try to ignore them. Even “ignoring them” has become much more work than it was even just a couple of years ago. It takes a conscious effort to ignore the deteriorating world and the intentional destruction of the once United States. It can no longer be done successfully. It is the elephant in the room, and it is massive.
Some people have relocated their residences to more rural locations or to so-called “Red States,” thinking that they might avoid the coming difficulties. That will only be a delaying action, and that delay is likely to be very short-lived. There are some wealthy individuals and even some governments that have, or are, constructing underground habitations that they think will provide a safe shelter from God’s impending judgment.
“In that day, men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold—the idols they made to worship. They will flee to caverns in the rocks and crevices in the cliffs, away from the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty, when He rises to shake the earth” (Isaiah 2:20-21).
There will be no safe places or safe spaces when He “rises to shake the earth.
Many people are complicit in this deterioration of world conditions without being aware of it. While considering themselves “conservatives,” many of whom live moral and unassuming lives, they depend on these virtues to help them get through the difficulties that they sense are coming. But if they depend on these values alone and ignore God, they are deceived and condemned to suffering that they are as yet unaware of and at a level that they can’t even begin to imagine.
The results of humanism and thinking that God can be ignored, whether intentional or otherwise, have resulted in a world where people think they are their own “saviors.” This attitude is on the verge of a catastrophic collision with the Truth of God’s Word.
The Truth of the accuracy of prophecy related to this current reality can be found in the Book of Romans (Chapter 1: vv18-32), where a list of what the consequences of the suppression of God’s Truth will look like, how man will be held accountable, and why.
I have not included these verses in this article for a reason, and that is if you, in the realization that this world is coming apart, are concerned for your future and that of your family members, and you seek answers as to why this is happening, you might make the effort to discover God’s Truth by reading these (and other passages) in a Bible.
If you have access to one of the following versions (King James, New King James, Berean Study Bible, New American Standard Bible, English Standard Version or New International Version), or online at biblehub.com, you can find those passages.
There are likely other versions that are “truth-worthy” as well and a careful comparison with one of the listed versions is worthwhile if you need to buy one. These comparisons are easy to do on Biblehub.com.
The fact that I felt compelled to list the various versions I am familiar with should tell you something: This age of deception and lies has given birth to many “versions of the bible” that may or not be trustworthy. (Caveat Lector – Let the reader beware.)
Now, to the crux of this article.
At a future point in time, every single human soul will become a believer in Jesus Christ and the Truth of the Gospel and the Power of God.
The question will be under which condition you will enter this state of understanding, as it will be one of only two ways.
- As a believer in and receiver of God’s Grace by repenting and receiving eternal life, which must happen in your living years. (See the Special Message at the end)
- Or as an unbelieving, lost soul after God’s Mercy is terminated by Him, and the terrible, irrevocable truth becomes their eternal state of being.
The saddest reality is that most people will ignore the gift of Grace (Jesus’ payment of the price of their sin) or even reject it out of ignorance or rebellion, neither of which will be excused. Jesus made this sad fact clear in His Word.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it” (Matthew 7:13).
I have heard a few people, mostly young and foolish men, say, “Well, I’ll just party with my friends in hell,” but that is not at all what they will be doing, and they will have forever to know it. Jesus spoke more of hell than He did of heaven. It is an all-too-real place.
If you have read this far, please read just a little further.
God has not yet executed the final series of judgments, and He tells those who have ears to hear and eyes to see why that is:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance” 2 Peter 3:9).
You don’t have to go down with this sin-besotted world when God executes His judgment at the rapidly approaching end of the age, but you must choose.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
For anyone who may read this article that has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life:
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior—the peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
