Israel Says Iran Behind Attacks, More Speaker Nominees, and Call for Patience with Invasion #shorts

Israel’s chief military spokesmen said today that Iran was directly involved in helping Hamas just before the attack on October 7, “supplying weapons, training and technological know-how.” Meanwhile, some Israeli leaders are calling on the U.N. secretary-general to resign after he suggested attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum. US officials placed blame squarely on Hamas.

Mere hours after being selected as the GOP’s nominee for Speaker of the House, Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota dropped out of consideration amid opposition from former President Donald Trump. Republicans have now chosen Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana as their latest nominee.

And Israel’s heritage minister called for military and government officials to be “patient” with the planned ground invasion of Gaza, insisting Israel not rush in to discover conditions in Gaza are a quagmire “like in Vietnam.”
