God is Listening, God is Seeing
“But Peter and the Apostles replied, We must obey God rather than any human authority.” ( Acts 5:29 NLT)
This is the determined reply given by these servants of the Lord when instructed by the authorities of their day that they could no longer preach and teach the truth about Jesus and the Word of God. Their answer was firm, though their life was at stake. No beating or persecution or lack of this world’s things could stop them.
And now we’ve reached the time again in our history, wherein many parts of the earth, there is a mandate of control being imposed over the proclaiming of Gospel truth in many democracies of our world. The fact is worldwide persecutions and martyrdom of Christians are at an all-time high. And this same evil ideology is striving to impose this control over the proclaiming of Biblical truth here in the United States. The justification for this control is to use the claim of “hate speech” and “social prejudice” if the Biblical truth about certain perverse and deviant sexual sins is condemned. Even if the ministers preaching such truth do it in the spirit of the love of Christ and offer the listener the path of saving redemption and deliverance, there is a move on to stop them.
The reasoning by these forces of evil, behind these political and cultural efforts to stop the preaching against these sins, and the hope and plan that God’s word gives for healing, deliverance, and redemption, is to say these things are not sin at all, but rather normal life choices, or natural predisposition to these evil lifestyles.
This evil has become so ingrained in our secular and Godless society, media, and government that Christians simply telling Biblical truth can be labeled.
“Hate Mongers” and now in many nations arrested and charged with hate crimes. We are racing toward the end of all things and the soon Return of Christ. The Apostle Paul told Timothy “that in the last days, perilous times would come.” (IITimothy 3:1.) Jesus said that this time would come “As a snare upon the whole earth.” (Luke 21:35)
The Apostle Peter said, “But the day of the Lord will come….” (II Peter 3:10)
Joel the Prophet said that in that day, “The Lord shall also roar out of Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem.” (Joel 3:16) Christ is going to return, and no power, nation, leader, or force of evil or darkness can stop Him from doing so.
Make no mistake about it, there are evil forces, Anti-Christ spirits that are trying to silence the truth, the voices of righteousness, and intimidate the mission of the church, but they will not prevail. The Church of Jesus Christ around this world will not be silenced or made impotent by hell’s legions, though they may control governments and all of the world of media. There is a much greater power than that of fleshly men and women, and He will not be dethroned.
I was reading this week from Genesis Chapters 18 and 19, where God sent sudden and complete judgement on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. I was struck by the fact that the scripture said, “ the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous” (Genesis 18:20). God is listening, and God is seeing.
There is a mighty stirring and shaking of God’s Spirit in this earth as He prepares His children for their greatest triumph. When decision time comes…..we will obey God rather than men. May we say with the assurance the Psalmist had when he said…
“He is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.” Psalms 62:6
