Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm is expected today to announce an important breakthrough by US Scientists in their quest to produce fusion energy. Researchers in Livermore, CA, found a way to create a net energy gain from a fusion reaction, possibly heralding a new energy era.

Authorities in the Bahamas Monday arrested Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of the cryptocurrency firm, FTX, amid allegations of fraud. US officials have not yet announced the charges.

More than 1,500 undocumented migrants waded through the Rio Grande from Mexico to the US this weekend, one of the largest single-day crossings ever.

And Twitter announced Monday it has disbanded its Trust and Safety Council, a group formed in 2016 to combat hate speech, child exploitation, suicide and other social media problems.
