Inflation Cools, Biden Campaign Hits Roadblock, and NATO says Ukraine is ‘Inevitable’ Member #shorts
Inflation in the U.S. cooled in June for a third straight month, a sign that the worst price spike in four decades is steadily fading and may soon usher in interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. Consumer prices declined 0.1% from May to June.
President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign is hitting new trouble after Nancy Pelosi gave a lackluster response to Biden’s decision to stay in the race. Late Wednesday, Vermont Sen. Peter Welch called on Biden to withdraw, becoming the first Senate Democrat to do so. Biden is scheduled to give a solo press conference this evening with hopes of calming concerns about his mental acuity.
And 32-members of NATO are formally declaring that Ukraine is on an “irreversible” path to membership in the military alliance, but not until its war with Russia ends.
