‘A Radical Way of Living’: What the Sermon on the Mount Can Teach Us Today
TED Talks have taken the world by storm, with experts doling out information on a plethora of subject matter. But what would it look like if Jesus were to give one of these informative speeches today? That’s a question that fascinated Robert Jeffress, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas. “I thought to myself, ‘If Jesus were to come back today and give a TED talk, what would he talk about?’ And then it hit me: we already have his TED talk. It’s called the Sermon on the Mount.” The preacher discusses the power, pertinence, and timelessness of the Sermon on the Mount. Jeffress also shared what he believes Jesus would tell Christians about politics today: “And I really think Jesus would tell Christians today the leaders you select determine the policies your nation follows, and the policies a nation follows determines the spiritual and moral direction of that nation.” Watch the conversation.
